I'm really sick of this right wing filth that manages to get spread all over America.
Let's assume for a moment that they are right, that if gay marraige is legalized, society as we know it will crumble. that the base of our lives will be shattered and mayhem will ensue. California and Massechuesettes are still functioning. Life goes on.
Or, that gays have some hidden agenda. that somehow, letting us marry will give us the power to take over the world! mwa ha ha...no.
What if, and maybe i'm off on this. But what if we just want to be treated like everyone else? What if we just want to be able to see our injured/dying loved ones while they're in the hospital? What if we just want to be able to plan the person we loves funeral? What if we just want a small tax break, or to file our taxes together even? What if we just want to be able to have each other covered on our healthcare plan at work? What if we just want to be able to show that we love one another and that we're able to show our appreciation for one another like every other married couple?
What if the constitution allowed that right for every American? oh wait...
interesting one...
not trying to dismay you though my friend... but its going to be a while for the general wolrd population to warm up... but with each upcomming generation... its becoming less and less of a "problem" and more and more of "you'r gay? ok"
so no worries... you got my support... and i know alot of people who would love this one... (i'll pass it on to them)

Though I personally lean right, I find the right-wing (key word) extremists to be more degrading towards American morality than anything else. There are a few phrases I like to bring up. He who lives in a glass house shouldn't throw stones. While we're at stone throwing, it was Jesus Christ himself who said "he who is free of sin, cast the first stone."
Humans aren't perfect, and unless one's personal conscience is cleaner than a bathroom floor at the Four Seasons (so squeaky fresh, you not only see your reflection, but a parallel dimension), nobody has a right to openly criticize a harmless lifestyle that they deem to be immoral.
So this is a powerful message, positive in its delivery, and most effective in affecting even a staunch conservative mind like my own. Excellent work.
I'm glad that people are able to see the nonsense being pushed by extremists talking about god and country. that somehow they have the morality to criticize humans as if they are the "powers that be" themselves.
Thank you.

Thank you. And thank you again for passing the it along.
I agree that in the new generation it's not at all where it was. It's weird to think that this Civil Rights issue is almost taking care of itself. Because there is no real voice behind this movement. No gay-martin luther king jr. if you will.
Also agree that it's going to take a while for this country to warm up to the fact that everyone is equal despite our laws saying so. This is more to those extremists that think we have big gay meetings at night and make plans with all the Jews in hollywood to take over america by asking to be treated equally. ah well...

I was watching Bill O'Reilly (why, i don't know). but a conversation with a rev. Johntson went something like this:
Bill: But you're not at the pulpit telling people how to vote?
Rev: No, not at all. we just want everyone to know that man and woman is how god intended every relationship to be, and that they should vote with who they feel will protect them from the destruction of our society best.
Bill: oh, okay.

You know, that agenda could roll along a little faster if it weren't for shows like Will & Grace or Queer eye for the Straight Guy... but oh well, stereotypes make people feel comfortable.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
